Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I accept private pay clients only. This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs without being bound to certain treatment plans and diagnoses.

What is your fee?

My fee is as follows:

Intake Session (55 minutes) : $250

Individual therapy (45 minutes) : $200

*For a more detailed look at my fees, please click on the Rates section at the top of this page.

What type of treatment do you provide?

I utilize an integrated approach, but my foundation is psychodynamic therapy.

What is your cancellation fee?

I do not charge for cancellations with over 24-hour advance notice. Cancellations that occur less than 24-hours in advance will result in a full fee ($200) charge. I will waive this payment for the first missed session per year to allow for illness and unexpected events.

How do I know if it’s time for me to go to therapy?

Therapy is like working out. Your mental health needs the same maintenance and attention you give your physical health. People ask me this question all the time, and I always say, “any time is a good time!” Even if you are just feeling stressed, or want to talk something through, therapy is a great option.

What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists prescribe medications while psychologists do traditional talk therapy. If you feel like you need medication, I am happy to help you get connected to a psychiatrist in addition to our work together. I encourage integrated health, and sometimes both medication and talk therapy are indicated.

How often do I need to come to therapy?

This varies from person to person. I usually recommend at least once a week at the start and then move to every other week after some of your goals are met. We can talk about this in our first meeting and decide how many sessions are right for you.
